Black Friday is the big shopping day right after Thanksgiving. You know the one, all the crazies camp outside of store only to rush in and find out that everything they were dreaming about is already gone. Ok, I love it too!

Let's use this forum to post tips, questions and/or just things you are looking for this year!

By the way, most of the Black Friday ads are already out, visit www.gottadeal.com and click on Black Friday to check out all the deals!

Re: Black Friday Tips and Tricks

Hey! Ok, this morning on Mix 96, I mentioned the Target Black Friday ad. Check out www.gottadeal.com and you'll be able to see all those great priced DVD's. Last year, I bought all of these a few days before Black Friday then I went in on Black Friday (after the crowds died down) and got a price adjustment! :o Check out my blog today for more info about the price adjustments!

Re: Black Friday Tips and Tricks

Well, I really don't need tons of items this year. But, I do plan on buying a bunch of DVD's at Target then taking my receipt and the ad back on Friday (after the crowds have died down) to get a price adjustment. Also, I saw a JcPenney's ad that said that the really good haircare products will be 40% on the morning of BF. I'm interested in that so I may hit there too!
Remember, Wal-mart will pricematch everything as long as it's the exact same model, etc. So, if I talk my self into it, I'm going to grab a camcorder. But, it's gonna take a lot of talking!

Also, I don't know if I've mentioned this or not but Sears and Kmart both have layaway this year. As for Kmart, you'd have to call and ask Sears, you can view the leaked BF ad, put your stuff in layaway then pull it out on BF and get a price adjustment. That way there's no fighting for your items, you've already got them you just have to get the adjustment! I've called both Kmarts and they said that they would be doing adjustments that day! I know Kmart isn't a big store around here but they have a lot of the same electronics that Target and Wal-mart have! It may be worth checking out!! ;)

Kohl's will do a price adjustment, also. Well, unless you work there or the spouse of someone that works there. Here is an easier way to put it, if you use an employee discount you can not do the price adjustment. Which really stinks bc I am going to have to stand in line, too. UGH!!!! :o

Re: Black Friday Tips and Tricks

I have both a tip and a question.

My son wants a book that can only be found on amazon. He also wants a certain video game. Thought I'd be a smart shopper and order both on amazon and get free shipping plus get the game a little cheaper. Turns out video games aren't eligible for free shipping on amazon! Bummer! However, since the book is only available that way and I HATE to pay for shipping and only lack about $14 to get the free shipping, I'll be looking for another gift on amazon today perhaps for my daughter. Great way to beat the lines!

Now for the question. Since he wants this video game and we don't believe it will go on sale before Christmas, does anyone know of places that give incentives to buy video games from them, ie gift cards, etc.? If I'm going to be paying full price for it, I'd love to get something to feel I still got a good deal!! Thanks!

Re: Black Friday Tips and Tricks

Don't forget the pre-Black Friday sales too! Sometimes you can get a better deal there than shopping on Friday. Big Lots has a really great sale going on right now. Toys R Us does too! Big Lots has a VTech game system including control and cd player attachments for $18!! That's 74% off! Toys R Us has a Jonas Brothers digital camera w/software and holds 40 pictures for $19.99. That totally takes care of really awesome presents for my stepdaughter for less than $40!! I don't even have to stand in line Friday. Lots of other awesome deals to be had at all stores right now!!

Of course, I will go stand in line to get the stuff I want for my baby and toddler. haha

If you really don't want to stand in lines this weekend, pull up a chair Monday morning for Cyber Monday. I hear that's the biggest online shopping day. Greatest deals online will be then - Dec 1st. Haven't done it yet or seen any previews for online sales next week, but definitely something to keep in mind.

Re: Black Friday Tips and Tricks

I'm putting my bets on the first week or 2 in December. I'll bet stores have even better prices then. When they don't see the sales they want to see on BF.

I stay away from stores on BF. Nothing is worth the stress.
